Joshua N. Feinman, M.A., Ph.D.; Deutsche Asset Management, Americas
Josh Feinman is the chief economist and managing director of Deutsche Asset Management, Americas, where he provides timely analysis of global macroeconomic trends, and their implications for financial markets, to key portfolio managers and clients around the world. He writes and edits a series of publications on global economic and financial market issues for distribution among the Bank’s offices and clients. He gives speeches throughout the world, is a frequent guest on financial television programs, and is quoted in major print and electronic media. Mr. Feinman was previously a global markets economist for Bankers Trust Company in New York, where he advised managers for the Bank’s fixed income, equity and foreign exchange activities in the U.S., Europe and Far East. Prior to joining Bankers Trust in August 1993, he spent five years at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. As an economist and then a senior economist in the Division of Monetary Affairs, he worked on a variety of current analysis and longer-term research projects related to the conduct and implementation of monetary policy, financial market developments and the behavior of the monetary aggregates. He wrote parts of the Fed's semi-annual reports to Congress, and he regularly briefed and advised the Board of Governors and the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC). Mr. Feinman has Ph.D. (1988) and M.A. (1986) degrees in economics from Brown University in Providence, RI and a BA (1984) degree in economics from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He has published several articles on monetary and financial issues in academic journals and in Federal Reserve publications.

Jim C. Otar launched his financial planning career after two decades as an engineer, and he brings extensive expertise in technical analysis to the practice of retirement planning. He is the author of two books, High Expectations & False Dreams—One Hundred Years of Stock Market History Applied to Retirement Planning and another on Canadian dividend reinvestment plans. He has contributed to advanced courses offered by the Canadian Securities Institute and authored more than 100 articles, some of which garnered the CFP Board Award in 2001 and 2002. Mr. Otar has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from the University of Toronto.

Dean Phillips is the Southern Region Sales Manager for the First Eagle Funds – a division of Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder Advisors based in New York City. ASB Advisors LLC managed approximately $45B in Assets for retail and Institutional clients Worldwide. Dean covers TX, LA, MS, AL, GA, SC and FL territory for all distribution channels. He has been involved in the industry since 1987 and a wholesaler since 1996. Dean holds a B.A. in International Relations, with emphasis in Economics from San Francisco State University. In his free time, Dean enjoys snow-skiing, riding European motorcycles and international travel. Dean resides with his wife, Lily in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
William Shelton, MBA; Goldman Sachs
Bill Shelton is a Vice President in Goldman Sachs’ Structured Equity Solutions group and markets all classes of structured investments to third party intermediaries in the United States. His educational experience includes a BS in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and a MBA from the University of Virginia’s Colgate Graduate School of Business.
Vanessa Simonetti, MBA; Goldman Sachs
Vanessa is a Vice President in the Goldman Sachs Structured Equity Solutions group and focuses on providing customized structured investments across all asset classes to the firm’s third party clients, including Private Banks and Independent Investment Advisors. She joined the firm in April of 2007. Vanessa was previously employed with Morgan Stanley from 2000 to 2007 where she worked within the Institutional Equity division and specialized in customized over-the-counter derivative contracts, as well as customized structured investments for the Private Wealth Division and the Third Party clients. She received her MBA in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business in 2003 and graduated with a BA in Mathematics from Bryn Mawr College in 1996.
J. Antonio “Tony” Villamil; Chief Executive Officer, The Washington Economics Group, Inc.
Tony Villamil has over twenty-five years of successful experience as a business economist and high-level policymaker at both federal and state governments. He has served as a U.S. Undersecretary of Commerce for Economic Affairs and is currently Chief Executive Officer of The Washington Economics Group, an economics and business consulting practice now in its second decade of operations. His areas of specialization are in economic analysis, economic development, trade policy, the U.S. Hispanic market and the Florida economy. Dr. Villamil is a member of the President’s Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations in Washington, D.C. He recently served as Chairman of the Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors of Florida. During 1999-2000, he directed the Tourism, Trade and Economic Development activities of the State in the Executive Office of Governor Jeb Bush. Presently, he is on the Board of Directors of the Spanish Broadcasting System (NASDAQ), Mercantil Commercebank, N.A. and Enterprise Florida – the State’s principal economic development organization. Among other leadership positions, Dr. Villamil served on the Property Tax Reform Committee of Florida during 2006 and is currently Chairman of the Economic Roundtable of the Beacon Council – Miami-Dade County’s official economic development organization. He is Senior Research Fellow of Florida TaxWatch, an established fiscal and policy research organization of the State. After winning the gubernatorial elections in November 2006, then Governor-elect Charlie Crist appointed him as his Economic Advisor during the transition period. Tony earned Bachelor and Master degrees in Economics from Louisiana State University (LSU) where he also completed coursework for the PhD. In 1991, Florida International University (FIU) awarded him a doctoral degree in Economics (HC), for “distinguished contributions to the Nation in the field of economics.” Dr. Villamil publishes widely on economics and trade policy topics, and is a part-time professor in the MBA programs of Florida International University (FIU). He was Senior Fellow of the Latin American and Caribbean Center of FIU from 1993-1994.
